After a long while – ship out of docks

It has taken a long while since last ship was launched, so the newest one in line is French 64 gun Bizarre – which incidentally has, (probably first and last time) experimental bristles for standing rigging – they seem to be rather reluctant to stay put. Or, I just should get better bristles. On the other hand, I might have to go for a bit more elaborate rigging, because I think it looks a bit too minimal. Something to think about.

Anyway, Bizarre is welcome addition to the French fleet and once I figure out how to make nice looking flags and pennants it should be ready to take it’s place in the line.

I love your work on these, and the rigging is what really takes them over and above.

Thanks for your comment. I was using wash for some time when painting these and now have given up the use. Once I get most recent Frigate ready I will put up comparison. I think using the wash was not entirely good idea for the scale. For rigging, I think a bit more is needed, maybe selected bits of running rigging.
